CAPTAIN Christopher Couch

A native of Macon, Ga., Capt. Couch attended Auburn University where he was commissioned an Ensign in June 1994 and attended Aviation Maintenance Officer (AMO) indoctrination in Pensacola, Fla.

Capt. Couch’s operational assignments include “The Valions” of Strike Fighter Squadron 15 (VFA-15), Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) Ronald Reagan (PCU 76), USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77). He has served as Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD) Officer, Material Control Officer, Aircraft Division Officer, Quality Assurance Officer, Assistant Maintenance Officer, IM-3 Officer and Maintenance Material Control Officer.

His shore assignments include AIMD Norfolk as Quality Assurance Officer, Airframes Officer and Paraloft Officer. He was Deputy Program Manager for Air Vehicle Systems and F/A-18/EA-18G Assistant Program Manager for Logistics in the F/A-18 and EA-18G Program Office (PMA-265). Consolidated Automated Support Systems (CASS) Assistant Program Manager for Logistics in the Common Aviation Support Equipment Program Office (PMA-260). Engines System Business Team Production Officer at Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE); and Carrier Strike Group Readiness Officer at Commander, Naval Air Forces Atlantic.

Capt. Couch received a Master of Science in Management from Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Ca., a Master of Arts in National Security Decision Making and Strategic Studies from the Navy War College, Level III certifications in Program Management, Acquisition Logistics, Production, Quality, and Manufacturing. He also completed the Naval War College Non-Resident Seminar, earning credit for Joint Professional Military Education, Phase I.

In August 2016, Capt. Couch reported to Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic (FRCMA) as the Executive Officer and became only the seventh Commanding Officer, FRCMA, in June 2018 until July 2020. He was then assigned to Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) Headquarters in Patuxent River, Md. as Vice Commander. He is currently serving at th Commanding Officer (acting) of Fleet Readiness Center Southwest in San Diego
Capt. Couch is designated a Professional Aviation Maintenance Officer and has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), as well as various campaign, service, and unit awards.
